Practice with SpotPass Ghosts with the slowest times first, then slowly work your way up. Try studying parts of the track while doing so, as they could be possible shortcuts. Develop your own technique for each track so you'll be unpredictable to unsuspecting opponents. And last but not least, only use items when they are necessary.

Also, some experimenting with kart parts helps as well. Some do well with bulkier, heavy karts. Some like faster, lighter karts. Be warned: Light karts can give you a great advantage in speed, you'll also be knocked far.ther and longer when struck by an item.

For Mario Kart 7, there are many things to watch out for. In my list of comments, i'll just give some helpful tips! :D

1.) Your combo: The Fasted combo is B-dasher, slick tires, and Swooper. The Slowest combo is Tiny Tug (i think it's the boat), Roller Wheels, and Super Glider (the original). Look for something that can help you through tough corners. The best wheels to use are the Mushroom Tires. The Swooper Glider is best, because it goes fast and foward. Finally, the B-dasher is the best body to use, because of it's top speed. With a combo with a great amount of Top Speed, Gliding, and Handling, you're good to go! :D

2.) Shortcuts: There are many shortcuts you can make in the game, even some without mushrooms! In courses like Rock Rock Mountain, you can use your glider to hover over large gaps of area! In courses like GCN Dino Dino Jungle, equip your combo with MONSTER TIRES (perferably the red ones, because they have better accel.) and that can really help you get through to offroad secrets! There used to be a glitch/shortcut in Maka Wuhu, but in May, Nintendo finally patched it, so there was no more problems! :D

3.) i find this most important when racing with 4-8 players. First of all, if someone tries to hit you with something minor, like a red or green shell or a banana, keep an item like that behind you, so you have your safety net. Next, Blue Shells can be swarming around anytime. You can see what other players have on your touch screen. If you see one, you're in 1st, and there's no one near you, find the nearest cliff and fall off it. Fact is, falling off saves you more time then it does to actually get hit. Finally, there's the real deal items. Like i said before, use shortcuts, and mushrooms or stars can help you catch up. A really good idea to catch up is, when you get a star, wait until you reach the next item box, use it before you run into it, and you'll get another awesome item! :D

btw, 3.) was items!

4.) Characters: There are 18 (including male and female mii) characters to choose from when you play MK7. First at the feather weights, you have Toad, Koopa Troopa, Shy Guy and Lakitu. The Light Weights are Peach, Yoshi, Daisy, and Female Mii. The Medium Weights are Mario, Luigi, and Male Mii. The Cruisers (in between medium and heavy) are Donkey Kong, Rosalina, and Wiggler. Last but not least is the heavyweights, Bowser, Wario, Honey Queen, and Metal Mario. The character depends on the status as well, so rookies should use feather weights first, because of their acceleration and offroad are amazing!

Avoid getting hit with bananas and shells, try to stay in 1st, When u c a blueshell on the bottom screen loose first place and become second till person in first gets hit, if the blue shell is already launched forget it, if ur far ahead and theres a blueshell keep going as long as theres no one on screen and u'll be fine if u stop u'll waste more time go backwards instead of foward, avoid off road, take short cuts, concentrate, do mirror mode first than 150cc beacouse u'll get used to mirror so u dont get confuzzled, keep on going, drift, try to be calm while driving, and do ur best ^-^ That's how I got 3 stars ^-^ YEAH, THAT'S alot of tips O.O
