@Big Al: When I saw this picture it reminded me of a comedic short animation I saw several years ago. It's called Maritess vs The Superfriends [HD]. Here's the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=An79RrJJYD0 It's pretty funny at the end. After looking at your DA page and then your blog and found out you saw the original B&W Astro Boy which means you're old enough to remember The Superfriends cartoon from the 70s. Otherwise, this would probably not be all that funny to you. Definitely, the last part of it will be. Pause the playback and read the "Show More" description to get a better understanding of what you're in for. This is a comedic performance and it was recorded in front of a live studio audience.

@Inque: That was very funny! The shows you mention were on the air in Costa Rica years or decades after their original run, so I do remember the show. I still wonder to this day where did Batman keep the Bat Bazooka.
And in Maritess´s defense, Aquaman has been a pretty surly guy for years now :D

@Big Al: lol! I'm glad you were not offended by the humor of the skit of the comedian who narrated it. Originally, I had second thoughts after posting the link and thought about editing the link out of the post. Aqua Man's surliness may have lead to one of his hands being amputated and a harpoon being placed there instead. From a character design point of view you'd think that a man who befriends sea creatures would not have a harpoon at the end of his arm. IDK. Maybe, it's just me over thinking things. IDK where I saw that design but, I remember it because the harpoon sticks out. (No pun intended.)

@Inque: No offense! It seemed a fish-out-of-water skit (wink, wink), and I'm sympathetic to the migrant worker's experience.
The harpoon hand was part of DC's misguided efforts to stir up interest in their characters in the 90's, like making Green Lantern go crazy, killing and resurrecting Flash repeatedly and other dumb stuff. Luckily, the editors and characters recently got better.

@Big Al: I didn't know about all that other crazy stuff DC was doing. I'm glad they got their act together. Also, I'm interested in seeing The Avengers next Tuesday during the all day $5.00 day. That's every Tuesday. It comes out tonight @ 12:01 a.m. but, I gotta work. The only movie in the series I haven't seen is The Incredible Hulk which I plan to see it this weekend. At first, I didn't think Thor would be all that great but, it is a great movie. If you haven't seen it yet, you should. :)

@Inque: I have yet to go see the movie, but I have high hopes for it. So far I've liked every Marvel Studios movie, Thor's art direction was a treat! Have fun!

@ Big Al: I spoke to a co-worker of mine who went to see The Avengers during the preview night showing and he said it is a great movie. I still haven't seen The Incredible Hulk, yet. So, this Sunday or Monday I should have some time to do so. Then, on Tuesday I plan to see The Avengers.
