After Streetfire and the others had cleaned Thunderstrike's wound's and Rainpaw had bandaged Thunder up, Street flew into one of the tree's to rest. She couldn't help but fall asleep. Another dream played itself out. She was on the same mountain with Airflights sitting on a rock, still on the other side. " Good afternoon Streetfire! " She nodded. " Airflights, ", she asked, somewhat nervouse. " why am I here again? " " Ah, yes! First, you do have the raven feather which fell to the earth afew days ago? " " Yes. " Good! Now, you may be aware that Ravenflight doese not possess her powers yet. " Yeah. But, where is this going? " The angel smiled. " I have been instructed to inform you that in order to gain her abilitys, Ravenflight must given this feather at midnight. Do this, will you? " " Ofcourse! " " Lovely! I may see you sometime again. Farewell winged one! " Then the dream faded to the real world.
*Silentpaw sat beside Thunder without speaking, her fur barely brushing her friend's. She kept her wounded leg above the ground and tried not to itch the cobwebs covering her various cuts. She looked down at Thunderstrike, who seemed to be hurt by the feeling of the ground and her own breathing. Silentpaw frowned at her friend's sad expression, and spoke in soothing tones* "This isn't your fault, you know." *She frowned deeper when Thunderstrike didn't answer. Her working paw flexed and shadows faintly flickered around her ears. Her powers seemed to be fading the more the disease grew in her, and Silentpaw guessed it was because her powers were repressing the disease as much as possible. Silentpaw sighed and curled up a ways away from Thunderstrike, not wanting to think about the foxes or her friends' injuries...or that there were only about 6 days left before everything was lost...*
TrueHeart, feeling a sense of urgency, climber the tree Street was in. Fearing the worst for her friend and afraid she wouldn't make it in time if Street was injured, her powers kicked in and she dashed up the tree. She got to the branch Street was on, not even winded from her speed boost, and looked at Street. She was peacefully sleeping and mumbling to herself. Everything sped up as True realised with relief that Street was just tired. Everything sped up again and Street awoke with surprise on her face, wondering how a True had climbed the tree so fast, and why...
" Trueheart! ", Streetfire exclaimed. " How did you- Oh . . . " She then remembered True's power's. " True, why were running up so fast? By the way,I need to talk to Ravenflight. Where is she? "
Raccontail walked slowly to Streetfire. thanks . you probally saved my life back there!. Racoontail sat down slowly. she was still in pain from her big impact on the ground.
Raven quietly sat near the river. She felt the wind blowing through her fur...She was planning for the journey ahead. Finally she knew they had to move. She walked back to the others, "I am sorry to say this..."Raven began. "But we must get moving. I believe if we travel by tree hopping it will be safer and perhaps more efficent. The cats around her nodded although the duneclaners looked slightly doubtful. We must go. We have a small bit of time before Moonhigh. Do you all understand?" There was a collective "yes" and so with that they continued.
Streetfire nodded and smiled at Raccontail. When Raneflight gave the order, she leapt back into the air and observed the others tree hopping away. " When should I . . . At highmoon I guess . . . " she muttered. Raven had alot on her mind and she thought it would be better just to get it done all at once instead of adding another problem to the list sooner then necesary. Street did a small flip in the air just to pass the time and then glided beside her friends. Flying was far less tireing then tree hopping and made Streetfire look much more majestic. She flapped back into the sky, keeping an eye out for anything hostile.
Street's wings glistened in the fading sunlight. True smiled. The majestic cat had been so shy before, and now her true personality began to show. As she mused over this, True wasn't focusing on her task and as she lept her claws missed a branch. As she fell she yelled out as she did as a little apprentice,"SKYEPELT!" But instead of SkyePelt, someone ELSE can to her aid...
Just before she hit the ground, Streetfire picked her up and, while still flying, dropped her off on the next branch. " And I thought you were a better at this! ", she laughed and glided off.
Rainpaw went into the camp normal looking. "Hmm, i swear they saw me" thought Rainpaw "Oh well, i can save my long back story for later." Rainpaw found some nice shelter and snored as he slept...
"not again.." Rainpaw said as he woke up from his thirty minute nap. So again he started running, noticing the scent was in the trees, so he climbed them. Rainpaw continued going along on the trees until he met up with the group. "stop ditching me please!"
Mousedung! They had left Rainpaw behind, again! Streetfire glide up beside the eritated cat. " Sorry about that! We're all in a hurry with the time limit and we'retending to forget alot. " Street smiled apologaticly. Dusk was now creeping over the land and the air was becoming colder and colder, day by day. Street shivered. All of her feathers and fur couldn't completely keep out the cold. Her glowing wings were also frosting over from the water she had gained from flying throug clouds. The feline landed on a thick branch and tree hopped along with the others as it was easier now.
*Silentpaw had gotten up with a hiss of pain, but had sucked it up as Thunderstrike had jumped into the trees without complaint. As she climbed with only one leg, she grit her teeth against the pain and the icy chill under her pelt that seemed to have been present since her transformation alone in the woods. Suddenly she stopped as she heard the faint call of Rainpaw and growled. Concerned about her own wounds, she had completely forgetten to wake up the medicine cat. She raced back and met him halfway through the trees, then circled back to catch up with the others* "I'm...so...sorry, Rain...paw.." *Silentpaw gasped between leaps, staring at her friends who were a ways ahead. Her injured leg smacked against a branch, and she yowled in pain, but kept going. She could endure any amount of pain to save the clans...and if she was being honest, she wanted to save herself*
"Guys, its fine, just, dont do it again." While the group was climbing, Rainpaw purposely fell behind the rest of the group, it was easy for him, but he noticed his pelt changing in color as they climbed and jumped through the trees.
While Streetfire tree hopoed she noticed that Rainpaws pelt was changing in it's colors. She hopped to the branch next to Rain. " Are you okay? ", she asked.
"Its fine, nothings wrong..." Rainpaw said turning his voice almost into a whisper by the last word. "Ok, if you really want to know, it started when I was a kit. I originally was brown-pelted and had light brown eyes as a kit. But then I moved from my old clan to riverclan and became what I am now. A couple of days ago, I put the peices together and realized that I could adapt to the environment. Now please dont ask questions or tell anyone else... they'll find out eventually."
*Silentpaw raced through the trees faster and caught up with Ravenflight. She smiled at her mentor, then hissed in pain as her injured leg's bone cracked in place. She stumbled on the branch, but she righted herself just before she fell. She steadied her nervous breathing and kept running, an embaressed smile on her face as her mentor gave her a paw* "Heh, I'm fine, thanks."
