Especially when you have a cut-time piece with a bunch of eighth-notes written on it. Cut-time sucks. Common time (4/4) doesn't.

AGHHH CUT TIME! :c i play the piccolo.... and when they give me a piece with sixteenth notes and cut-time...i die.

I'm a flutie too. That's why it's especially annoying because there's always eighth-notes EVERYWHERE.

cut time is same as 2/4 just make half notes quarters, quarters eighths, and eighths sixteenths

I get what cut-time is, it's just mentally translating quarters to eighths and eighths to sixteenths that gets me. After a while, I just ignore most of the rhythms and play what I think it should sound like rhythmacaly. Pretty much ignoring note lengths and only paying attention to which notes I should be playing.

I know that, just our band director always puts the tempo really fast and so if we get to a song with cut-time we all diiiiiiiiie.

i had to play 16th notes on trombone in cut time and survived that marching band show.

and for everyone complaining about flute and marimba you don't have to stretch your arm out full length back and forth like i do on trombone
