i'm sure you could've made this without tracing. free-hand is less time consuming, is more rewarding, and the end result can often be better than just a carbon copy of someone else's work.

It doesn't matter if you were honest with saying it was traced, It's considered plagerism without their consent, and even if you did ask, it's very insulting to the original artist regardless of giving credit to them.
