Try thinking about the form of the fire. A lot of the times fire likes to follow an S curve shape design. For coloring start with the base color usually some kind of red, next inside the fire you made without covering the red completely fill in your next color usually like an orange. Finally do the same thing to the orange but with yellow. There is a lot more to fire and too much for me to put into one post. If you have any more questions feel fee to ask me. I could even make a example drawing if you want to see how I go about it. -kei :D
ooh ooh!! for realistic fire I do a white-ish yellow in the center then orange then red - coolest + brightest colors in the center where the flames burn hottest!!! and oranges and reds on the outside
