i had a lot of imaginary friends growing up, especially while i had a really bad mental state when i was 9-12. my imaginary friends helpt me alot through that time even if my mom hated them
i would put pennys outside this little fairy door thing i had and tell the door things like they were on the other side of it, normal mentally ill child things :angel: thats why i like the phrase a penny for a thought
i would dream about them all the time the dreams were horrendous though

Honestly I also like that phrase too!
even though I never had imaginary friends..
I'd like to think whenever i got a silver coin I thought how I was gonna spend it all the time!

ur story reminds me of this time i was scared of under my bed and i had this fear for awhile of someone reaching up and grabbing my hand (so i couldnt hang my arms over the bed) but one night i thought with if i reached out and grabbed that monsters hand first and it was actually a victorian ghost kid around my age an we would be friends :D (i was really into tbhk at the time XD) it became a tradition when ever i was stressed or just laying in bed thinking i would hang my han over the bed

to grab my "ghost pals friend" even though i knew there wasnt actually a ghost it was just the nice idea of holding someones hand nicely instead of a EVIL CREATURE from grabbing it :3 helped me get over meh fear

I don't think I ever had imaginary friends, but I was good at convincing myself that I was my favourite fictional characters, and I used to do the parkour thing in the car too haha
