mettazashihirokun

@commierade0101 NO NO NO ESPERANTO IM CRYINGGGGG esperanto is MAXIMUM GOY JEWJEWJEW LANGUAGE. so ig im going with japanese brah.. only think tht was pushing me away is the fact that some of yalls words turn into one big word and idk how im supposed to read or write ts

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 1:36 am

japanese scares me yall are too advanced fr my brain... same with chinese oh my god im never learning chinese or any dialect of it

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 1:37 am

learning japanese letters is easy in both alphabets but then u have..... the scary ones...

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:39 am

@mettazashihirokun Yay :clapper: A tip is that we use tsu for double letters: EX ggikuri っ(tsu) ぎ(gi) く(ku) り (ri)

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:39 am

KANJI SUCKS DUDE><>>>MM< I STILL KNOW LIKE 1k BUT REALLY BROTHER :joy:

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:40 am

also uhm づ can either be pronounced dzu du or zu

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 1:42 am

@commierade0101 so with double letters is the tsu also pronounced or is it like silent,, like is it only there for writing and typing or is it there for talking as well

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 1:43 am

@commierade0101 dude when i first started linguism i thought it would be GREAT to try japanese as my first LOTE/LOTN and actually cried over trying to understand kanji. i was like 9 but it was SO BAD

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:43 am

@mettazashihirokun Silent i think i dont rlly hear anyone say it

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 1:46 am

@commierade0101 derp ok thanks for telling me ts is very useful :flushed:

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:46 am

I believe its just for typing but you can also pronounce it but like. very subtle like quiet っく kku you have a double k so pronounce it a bit longer like gakkupo

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:49 am

Also KANJI REPETITION> we use this special symbol for double kanji!(々) example: 青々. Ao is being said TWICE, hence the 々 symbol is in usage

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 1:49 am

@commierade0101 bokay thank dada

another thing, i already figured this out a couple years ago but

kun- mainly used for males who are in same age class as you

chan- mainly used for females in same age class as you

but do the genders like actually matter? cuz ive seen some refer to their male friends as chan or female friends as kun? how does ts work

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 1:50 am

@commierade0101 WHAT. KANJI REPETITION DUDE IM GONNA DIE WHAT

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:51 am

@mettazashihirokun to be fair, if theyre comfy you call them anything but if getting to know eachother it's important you ask

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:52 am

so like: Hey Kuru can i call you this -> kun
Oh yeaaaa im female but that sounds cool, but please remember thats not what i use so please treat it lightly

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:59 am

Also the は (wa) and が(ga) particles. You may notice that was HA, but i said WA. Ha can be pronounced as wa, because it is a broad topic marker.Used for all things, but not specifying which
「GA』 on the other hand is like THE. Example: hey nori!! Are you THE nori from the band ****************????
はい!私が「のり」です。(yes!!!! i'm that/the nori!)

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 1:59 am

@commierade0101 ohhh okai :flushed: is it like a gay pronoun thing as it is in america, or is it literally just 'i think it sounds cool'

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 1:59 am

Also the band name was something very funny but colors tagged it die

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:00 am

@mettazashihirokun it can be both, gays are taboo here, but it can also be a thing they're more comfy with

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:00 am

@commierade0101 ok yes dat makes sense abt the が nd は thing

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:02 am

@commierade0101 ohh bokay :flushed: also yeah ive heard abt how gay people are considered taboo and i think dats dumb cuz ive made numerous japanese online friends and they were literally all gay :wilted_flower:

Reyko_Kun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:04 am

Spanish :D!

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:06 am

OH also funny story ha is pronounced wa sometimes due to the government. in 1942, japan was like: lol, lets change the usage of wa back to wa..
History was made because they already used HA a lot of times and pronounced it wa. Ha is pronounced like that because it was originally fa, then pa, now ha. Wa is the non-pronounced pronounciation, but ha is the topic-pronounced pronounciation

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:06 am

@mettazashihirokun LOL we're like that, usually strict parents or religion

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:10 am

also its kinda like english with tsu say gackt in an english accent now say gakk with an accent other than english, youll see its like ck and sh particles (idk the english word for it)

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:14 am

@commierade0101 idk what u mean by ghat

as in tsu is similar to ch, ck, th, and sh? or??

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:15 am

@commierade0101 so like how do u know when a word with は is pronounced as ha or as a wa? is there an indicator or is it just a guessing game

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:26 am

@mettazashihirokun yea tsu is similar to those

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:27 am

@mettazashihirokun if used in a long sentence or introduction most likely wa

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:29 am

@commierade0101 oh bokay :flushed: thank u dada

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:32 am

@mettazashihirokun yw!! so like わたし__ is わたしは, we don't use the wa gana in introductions

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:34 am

we use ha as its normally pronounced in names tho like haru in hira is はるin kanji its 春 haru is spring

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:37 am

@commierade0101 heeeelppp im so confused about kanji. so like u use hiragana for names but then the actual word is meant to be in kanji?

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:38 am

@mettazashihirokun nono names ARE kanji but we use hiragana sometimes to simplify it

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:39 am

ex: hatsune miku, her first name is ミク which is kana

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:39 am

we also have STAR names like キラ which is in kana. some people use kanji for last and kana/gana for first

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:42 am

@commierade0101 im gonna be that one white person who simplifies everything bro why is kanji so hatd :flushed: ill be reading smt in japanese and be like 'oh ok reading is easy' and then get hit with 隙間 or some shyt bruh. 私和 is easy to read and understand but then they start getting BIGGER AND BIGGER and i just sitthere crying

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:43 am

@mettazashihirokun is it bad i had trouble pronouncing 聞 for years. its used as ki, but also KU. WHAT THE FU>K

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:44 am

いt HAS SO MNY PRONOUNCIATIONS

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:45 am

@commierade0101 dude are you serious

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:47 am

@mettazashihirokun yes brother its like oh cool ki
what. ban? ku??? IS THERE NOT ALREADY A KI KANJI.

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:49 am

@commierade0101 bro im crying its gonna take me like 500 years to even learn past basic japanese :flushed: bruh my family was literally supposed to move to okinawa back in 2020 this couldve made my learning so much easier are we so fr

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:49 am

we also got haha vs okaasan just use okaasan for mother oh my goodness haha is complicated and plus someof us hate it

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:51 am

@mettazashihirokun basic japanese is so easy but kanji is a he.llhole. WHAT DO YOU MEAN "yea, give it like 5 pronounciations and make each have a different meaning" 聞こえる = to be heard, audible. I'm gonna keep it at that buddy thats all i use 聞 for

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:52 am

@commierade0101 haha means mother?? whut

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:53 am

@commierade0101 THATS ALL IT MEANS??? IT MEANS TO BE AUDIBLE?? THATS IT??? huge аss character for no reason are we fr

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:54 am

@mettazashihirokun yea, 母is haha meaning mother

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:55 am

@mettazashihirokun thats literally all. why must it be like that bruhh

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:57 am

we got 今 (ima/even) and thats pretty simple so why is 聞 pronounced like 気 (ki/mind)

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:57 am

@commierade0101 bro im crying. ok so what do i like. start with

i have hiragana and SOME kana down, but now do i start learning the 500 million gazillion kanji characters or do i skip that for now and move onto sentence structures + word definitions

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 2:58 am

@commierade0101 bruh doesnt like the way you breathe also matter in japan.. like doesnt the wrd literaly change depending on how you like breathe the word

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:59 am

@mettazashihirokun I skipped kanji bruh learn how to structure sentences, then do kanji past that

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 2:59 am

@mettazashihirokun I think so yea

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 3:01 am

@commierade0101 ok great cuz i didnt wanna have to learn kanji  when yer writing kanji is there easier ways for things to be written, or do you have to literally brush stroke every individual little detail of the word. or is it just when yall are writing yall just simplify it to hiragana

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 3:01 am

also tip ツ is tsu シ is shi ソ is so ン is n. so looks like a y while n looks like a stick being thrown/the - being moved away while tsu looks like a stick before falling and shi is the stick after falling

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 3:02 am

@mettazashihirokun The painful world of stroke order is waiting there is no way to simplify it you can use hiragana but that makes you sound like a kindergartener because we arent really gonna use kanji till like 1st to well you get it

REAL_chiyo-chan

10 Mar, 2026, 3:03 am

do you want to learn indonesian wit me

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 3:03 am

@commierade0101 i forced myself to memorize ツ、ソ、シ、and ン a while ago cuz i KNEW id get stuck on it

mettazashihirokun

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 3:04 am

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 3:08 am

@commierade0101 OHHH ok help im rarted. ok yes ts makes sense yes. ok well tat should make things a bit easier for me when trying to understand things being said cuz if kana is just loan words and onomatopoeia then i should be able to sound out the phonetics and understand it right.????

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 3:09 am

@mettazashihirokun yep!

0101sanjou_

10 Mar, 2026, 3:11 am

mettazashihirokun

mettazashihirokun

10 Mar, 2026, 3:14 am

@commierade0101 yes bro like writing and reading korean is easy and stuff but like definitions along with batchim rules burnt me out so fast

0101sanjou_
