She taught Marie how to play piano
After her death, Alfred (Marie’s father/her husband) can sometimes see her ghost by their piano, at first he was scared, but now he just takes the opportunity to sit by her and watch as she plays a silent tune
She always wanted to open a club, at the end of the book Marie fulfills that dream for her by turning constances mansion into a speakeasy
