Sometimes backgrounds do feel a tad unnecessary . I think theirs a lot of charm to a blankground , it gives a traditional kinda feel and look to it .
I wouldn't want to listen to a song I like for an hour straight , sounds like a surefire way of making me despise it . I applaud ya for your commitment , but I also hope you didn't ruin the song for yourself o: :ear: :snake:

@PoodleKingdom Yessss, I used to stress over backgrounds all the time, but now I no longer care. I'm finally free from the shackles that used to bind me! XD

And yup! You'd be correct! Rika is now the proud owner of a shiny Quagsire in the recent update of Pokemon Masters! (A game I'll never play but will definitely if they'll let me date Rika).

She got the shiny Quag from Misty (or so I hear), and I'm insanely jealous because I gave her a non-shiny Wooper in Scarlet/Violet DLC, and now Misty tries to one-up me by giving her a shiny Quagsire!? How dare she. What's she trying to pull!?

Jokes aside, I rarely draw Rika with Clodsire or Quagsire because I tend to draw Rika in a more serious light, and Clodsire and Quagsire are more...silly and cute. And sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I just don't want to draw Clodsire/Quagsire.

@SaltineCracker Yeah, I won't dispute you there. Backgrounds do add an extra flair to art, but sometimes it's better to not have to worry about it, too. And sometimes backgrounds don't really matter all too much when you're drawing portraits, I think.

I'll still draw backgrounds, but only when I feel like pouring all my heart into a single piece, y'know?

I could never hate a song I listened to for an hour straight. I might not wanna listen to it for a very long time, though, haha. XD

I understand! I'd love to see a serious rika battle pose! I can imagine her with her hair blowing in the wind , clenching her teeth, holding onto her pokeball near her face from the blast of the intensity of the pokemon battle ensuing! . . looks cool in my head!. . . or i'm just silly! :'P
