My Understanding of Evangelion by rei-chan_nya

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a mecha anime with slight post-apocalyptic, and depressive themes. The first 24 episodes were just that, a show about big robots fighting big monsters with characters with issues. But, the last 2 episodes is where it loses the entire mecha premise and starts REALLY talking about self-hatred, and hate in general. The final episode ends with Shinji learning that if you hate yourself, you'll think everyone else hates you too, and then learning to love life (cont in comm.)
