its because his parents dont support him, and still call him by his dead name, Izzy
he hates being called a girl, but his parents wont accept him

a dead name is a name that a person was given to when they were born, but they dont use it anymore
like kobi was named izzy when he was born, but he didnt feel comfortable with that name so he wanted to be called kobi instead
