hope ur L button testing is going well, if u have any particular notes on it then lmk, such as:
- is it constantly "held"?
- is the actual button sticky or mushy/hard to press compared to ur other buttons?
- if not, does anything /sound/ incorrect when pressed? compare with working buttons
and just anything else like that... with best luck, the button might just need a thorough spray with canned air or smth to clean it lmao

without the rebind it shows on home screen its pressed down all the time even though im not activly touching it at all.
so its acting held. with rebind it only shows L held after closeing out if certain games after suspending it in home menu.

if it helps for remembering, i chose the "cataclysm" part of my username as a pun on CATaclysm... since my main fursona is a cat, and my old username "elininjakat" had "kat" as a purposeful mispelling of cat djsjshsjd

its funny, i'd be doing volunteer work at the library rn too BUT its way too snowy out lmao. they're closed, the roads are super icy and slick so i imagine thats why :'D

hmm, it sounds as if your L button might have dirty contacts perhaps? or that a spring might be stuck. every button on the system has a metal contact point on the motherboard, when you press a button, it presses that contact point and tells the system "hey! im being pushed!". idk if the L button on the n2ds XL uses spring contacts or push contacts compared to other systems, but either way, if its dirty or stuck, thatd fix it.

if compressed air didn't work, you may need to open up the console and try disconnecting and reconnecting the buttons... ill do a bit of video research on that kinda thing. and dw abt retyping, i'll read ur email in a lil while :>

im not wanting to open my console like, ever, so, that leads back to a local repair shop. maybe if they can just do a cleaning. id be ok with that maybe. but i do wanna hold off on bringing to a place.
