oh i looked it up it says it is based on the zia sun symbol which is a modern interpretation of an anceint sun design found on a late 19th century water jar from Zia Pueblo :0

it also says the zia tribe's beleived in pantheistic spiritulism which teaches that all things in the universe are fundamental harmonious and how the circle represents the circle of life and such :o
