Some lore: Carmen is Andrea's ex-girlfriend. They broke up when Andrea decided that she needed to focus on her science, but it was actually mostly because they were incompatible. Also, fun fact, 1990s Andrea is actually in her early to mid 30s, she just looks older due to time traveling shenanigans affecting her body.
