Avatar gimmick: she can grab her soul and break it. (only a little bit, she cant break it Fully cause that would cause her to abstract obviously- though when she does crack it, which she does when she feels intense emotion, then it causes pain.)
How she got to TADC: she was working in the lab with Gaster and Alphys exploring portal technology (not to other deminsions but to like other places in the underground) cont in comments

And she didnt examine it thoroughly before volenteering to go check it out first. she went through and it took her to TADC and the portal closed. (the portal in the lab exploded and they had no way to track her.) shes been in TADC for six months.
Extra: she doesnt sleep much (because it isnt needed and because she has dreams and nightmares of her friends and family back at home.)
she also has hillucinations of Sans, Papyrus, and the portal, which disappear and show up.
