Snakes are a largely misunderstood creature. While most species are non-venomous, the ones that are prefer to be left alone, and won't go out of their way to harm you. Best just admire them from a distance.

I quite admire the tame nature of domesticated snakes. That being said, their generational reputation often makes for a fun and interesting characterization.
