Backgrounds can help set a scene, but it's usually better to keep them simple so as to not take away from the focus of the painting. However, if the background is part of the focus, it's a good idea to make sure all the details are present. So in short, there's a balance to the equaion really.
I look forward to seeing this finished. : )

i suppose i look like a 9 year old then, lol. But our knight had the literal BEST personality. everyone else was meh, nothing special, waving, slight smile, some deadpan with no eye contact. Our knight was all head tosses, winks, flashes of grins, eyebrow raises, pointing to crowd, sassy looks, it was hilarious.
Idk what u mean by "won", yes, he won some things, but he wasnt the overall winner (which was blue knight, an ally if ours, we were on the Kings side with green and blue.)
