The art world can seem terrifying to some, so many art styles, trying to find your own one, the right pens and pencils!! but im here to help ya out a lil bit!
1) try out as many styles as possible! When i was a wee 'un, i mainly did anime, but i reccommend trying to practice realism asap because it can help you with aspects and proper scaling, and you use that knowledge in cartoons! NO, i am not saying make your style realism!!
2) WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS AND BUY ART BOOKS!!!!.continue #calliestips
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

like, go to your local library and ask if they have "The Art Book" by Sarah Simblet, and if they dont, buy it!!! it skims over the history of art (SUPER important if your taking art as a career) AND gives you tutorials, and isnt even just realism!

4) find a bunch of artists style you like and try to replicate it, if you decide to post it mention that you took inspo off their style because it could be illegal? depends on circumstances

heres my tips for rendering:
1- shadows- just draw your shadows messily or in larger blocks, and trun down opacity (shadows on separate layer)
2- highlights- you kinda need to understand how lighting works alongside shadows, but usually place highlights in places like eyes or sides of faces (depending on light source)
3- colour- use colours that compliment each other (warm/cold colours), also ones opposite/next to each other on colour wheel. try to stick to one set of colours with a contrasting-

colour to highlight/emphasize specific areas
4- line art- COLOUR YOUR LINE ART!! it can look really good and adds a :sparkles: juicy :sparkles: effect to your work :]
5- experiment- just try what you think works and if it looks good, good! trial and error is key in learning art, as a self taught artist myself i still havent got everything i think i need to be successful, but thats just me. have fun with it
(sorry for wall of text mb gang, dont jump me)
