When i was starting out with art (not on here btw) I was around 5, y'know just scribbling like most kids do, I only discovered what bases were when i was maybe 9? And i still rarely use them, And my art, in my opinion, Is pretty good, i'd say, So i think bases shouldnt really be needed, They should be more or less replaced with references :)
