Abilities:

Toxic Claws- It’s venom filled claws make short work of any prey unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of their razor sharp edges.

Projectile Spikes- The Hizard can fire its spikes with pinpoint accuracy. They’re also filled with venom so being struck by them will drop most prey instantly.

Poison Breath- Hizard can breath out a corrosive cloud of poison to obscure vision of their victim and poison them.

Night Vision- Night Vision means the Hizard can see you in the dark. Nothing gets past its sharp eyes.

Wall Climb- Compact muscular limbs and razor sharp claws enable it to climb nearly any surface with ease.

Acid Spit- It can spit lethal acid to melt both obstacles and enemies.

Toxic Skin- Just when you think its already toxic enough, it also has toxic skin! Meaning that even touching it is deadly(not that you’d want to)

Physicality:

Strength- With its strong limbs, tail, and sharp spikes and claws, it can easily shred through most materials. The corrosive power of its venom, means even metal isn’t a reliable protection from it.

Intelligence- Not only is it an intelligent predator, it even has been observed to be capable of using tools. It stalks its prey from the shadows, learns their behaviors and then pounces once it has determined the best way to take it down.

Speed- Even without the cover of darkness most prey won’t see it coming due to its immense speed. Most documented cases of attacks recall just seeing a purple blur striking its victims down.

Agility- Claws, powerful limbs, and its ability to climb most surfaces makes it an incredibly agile predator. It often takes advantage of its agility by striking from above or from angles its prey won’t expect.

Defense-

It has a tough scaly hide but it’s not exceptional. It relies more on speed, toxicity, claws and its spikes to protect it from harm and often hunts in the cover of darkness to minimize unnecessary risk.

Stamina & Regeneration- It has a preference for getting finishing off its prey as quickly and efficiently as possible. Not due to lack of stamina but to conserve resources since its potent venom is biologically expensive to produce.

Behavior, habits and how it hunts:

Captivity-
It doesn’t do very well in captivity. Often becoming irritable and destructive. It needs constant mental stimulation to keep it from becoming bored, otherwise it will destroy its captive area by claw, acid, and venom. Oddly enough, they seem to bond with caretakers that treat them well despite their predatory nature, presenting hunting “trophies” to them as gifts. They’re surprisingly tender with those they’ve bonded with.

Habitat-

As ambush predators they prefer areas that are densely packed and dimly lit. They use the cover of darkness to take great advantage of their superb night vision when going after prey. They hunt solo but also in packs. Pack hierarchy is still being understood but its believed that the females are larger and more dominant.

Killing Method-
Their go-to method is to stalk and pounce from the shadows when their prey least expects it. When prey tries to hide they will use their poison breath flush them out. While hunting in packs, they will attack the prey from all sides, wearing it down until they can finish it off.
Projectiles spikes and acid spit are used defensively rather than for hunting since the Hizard isn’t the biggest predator around and uses these to deter larger predators from attacking them.

Weaknesses and how to deal with the Hizard:

Being an ambush predator, the Hizard prefers to avoid being injured at all cost. The best way to deal with them is to deter the attack stick to areas that aren’t dimly lit with lost of cover(aka their preferred habitat).
