Ross: (without looking up) Jack, I’m working.

Jack: Just one sec! I wanna make it my wallpaper.

Ross: (raises an eyebrow) Your… what now?

Jack: My wallpaper! So every time I unlock my phone, I remember the toughest captain ever puts up with me. Keeps me motivated.

Ross: (snorts) If that’s what keeps you going… maybe aim a little lower.

Jack: Hey, don’t judge me! Not every day you get a selfie with a legend.

Ross: (crosses arms, hiding a faint smirk) Legend, hmph… more like an old man who’s seen too much.

Jack: Well, this old man’s my hero.

Ross: (sighs) Alright… put that thing away before I go soft.

Jack: (leans in) C’mon, boss, just smile a little! Like you don’t secretly enjoy having me around.

(Click — the selfie. Jack laughs. Ross barely moves, but his gaze softens for a second.)

Jack: Look at us! You almost look like you like me!

Ross: (gruffly) Huh…? More like I’m about to arrest you.

Jack: Pfft! You just don’t wanna admit you care!

Ross: (deep sigh) Kids these days… hmph!

(Jack laughs, pockets his phone, walking off.)

Jack: Thanks, boss! I’m framing this one!
(Ross watches him go, muttering under his breath.)
