When Thunderstrike collapsed Streetfire awoke from her rage. She whipped her head round and turned this way and that. Her expresion was one of profound panick and horror. Street screamed into the night and couldn't stop her hair-raising shreeks. What had she done? A memory came back to her. Fire. Everywhere. Cats lay at her feet, bloodied and ripped. They included the lovely blue and green female, her throat now slashed. The kit was splattered with blood. Her furiouse eye's looked up and there stood the white tom, speechless. The kittens anger started to disipate at his sorrow. " NOOOOOOO!!! ", Streetfire shrieked. " I don't want to! I don't want to remember anymore!! MOOOOTHEEEER! Come back . . . " Street choked on her last few words. Words were replaced with a never ending line of screams.
Rainpaw woke up and saw a cat rummaging through the medicine stock. "Who, what..." It turned around. Foam was dripping out of its mouth. "oh no, oh no" The foam reminded him of how his mother died. The cat thrusted itself straight at Rainpaw. He couldn't move. He was paralyzed. "This is for your life," he thought. Right before it came into contact with Rain a cat rammed right into the beast and slashed its throat, kil.led it instantly. He soon realized the cat that almost kil.led him was grayfield, his fathers brother, the one that kitted him like a father for 6 moons. "Get rid of everything in stock," said the cat that saved his life, Tinyfoot. "Its a disease with no cure, and is highly contagious." Rainpaw spent the rest of the day re-supplying EVERYTHING. [gathering in 2 days?]
Raven hated to admit it but she hid. She had dragged herself up a tree to serve as a lookout. In leaf branches she panted slightly from the effort of climbing... She knew in a battle she would be too stiff and slow...she would be infected...Raven decided that If anyone were to look...like they needed help...She would leap....most likely to her death to save them...
As TrueHeart fought the zombiefied hoard of cats before her, she couldn't help but notice how furiously Street fought... Did it have something to do with... her unknown past?...
*Silentpaw felt like she was drowning. Drowning in claws and teeth and insanity. She had been scratched inumberable times, and she wasn't sure if the bl.ood on her fur and paws was hers or the infected cats. Either way, she was probably do.omed. The only thing keeping her from being completely overwhelmed was bursts of her powers, which flung the infected cats back. But they just kept coming; it seemed like these cats didn't care how many times they were hit and knocked down-they simply wanted to ki.ll. As she kept fighting, a scream reached her ears, a long, soul-piercing scream. Silentpaw shuddered, a chill overtaking her heart. So much de.ath, so much ki.lling...
Streetfire's hatred rose up once more. She didn't know if it was at herself or the world in general but it burned in her heart like a roaring furnace. She felt it might burn her heart out. Street roared and started to once more desimate the crowd of diseased felines. She didn't care that no one knew her name. She didn't care if she was to could be infected. She didn't care if anyone thought she had helped Silentpaw seveerly injure Ravenflight. The only thing that mattered to Streetfire was the viruses enialation, starting with the zombie like cats infront of her. " DIE!! "
Rainpaw smelled death in the air as he woke up from his dream. He ran as fast as he could. Then, there, standing in front of him was another one of those monsters that was formally a regular cat. Rain ran again, then finally he found the cats he was looking for. "The 7, run, we have no time!" He yelled to the world stopping everything in its tracks.
Streetfire ripped apart the last cat with a bellow and whipped around to face Rainpaw. The fire in the feline had not yet been quenched. It propelled the bloodied cat toward him. " One more ki.ll . . . ! " she growled and then yowled. Streetfire was no longer herself. The rage was in controle. Somewhere deep down, she knew what was about to happen. A tear rolled down her cheek. She was now only afew feet away from Rain.
" Sorry . . . " she croaked. " I am really . . ., really sorry . . . I didn't mean to do that to the both of ypu . . . I'm just . . . " Streetfire stopped. Shen wasn't just talking to Rain: she was also apologizing to her mother. Street shopk her head rapidly, trying to push the memorys away. She took in a deep breath and wiped tears away . " What are going to do n-now? " The white feline said hoarsely, silver liquid still rolling from her eyes.
[ok, what just happened. I'll just go with it.] Rain went up to everyone after some odd freak out from who he now knew as streetfire and devised a plan. "We leave the day after the gathering, once we announce that we are leaving. This only applies to the clan cats and gives the others a chance to get ready. I cant go because of my medicine cat duties. So, does anyone know where it is, if not I will tell you..."
True hesitated. "I-I have had... dreams which keep coming ...back. I didn't say it to anyone, ask I had no-one to tell. But I know the way by heart. I've seen all that's happened before. I-I think I know the way." The cats starred at her. Then Street spoke up. "Is that why you seen to know me? You didn't attack when we first met because you knew me from your... dreams?" True swallowed hard and nodded. RavenFlight inturupted. "We have to get these diseased bodies out of here before they infect the clan! Everyone must wash off in the river immediatley afterwards." The other cats nodded and did as she said. It was obvious to see the cats had chosen a leader; RavenFlight.
Raven hauled herself out of the tree. She landed hard and almost collapsed but to outsiders she looked perfectly fine besides the cuts and burns. Thunder then strided up to her. Raven listened closely as the yellow she-cat blurted out her dream. One look in Thunder's eyes and raven knew she was telling the truth. "Alright I believe you." Thunder looked completly relieved. "Thank you Raven." Suddenly blown on the wind, a Raven's feather fluttered down to the ground. All the cats watched as the feather spun, twirled, and then it hit the ground. It landed right in front of the black and white cat. And it faced north "North...We must head north." Instantly all the cats understood. Raven's eyes clouded for a moment. "To the land where fire dances in the sky." The voice was not her own, it was the voices of starclan all mashed into one. Her eyes then looked clear and detirmined..."If Starclan wishes it we shall go north." Rainpaw piped up. "Raven we must wait till after the gathering! Just 2 days." But in Raven's mind she had one thought. "How many cats have to die before we get back?" Her claws sunk into the ground but still turned away from Rain she said "Fine we will wait." But her voice was strained....This wasn't going to end well...
Street heard the strain in Raven's voice. " She's right. " Streetfire whispered and then took the feather. She had a strong earge to take it. Soon all of the cats had finished dumping the multitude of bodys and headed back for Forestclan. Street soon fell at the back of the group. There was so much on her mind. Streetfire stopped and looked into the stary sky. No matter how much anguish, death, or evil there was on this earth nothing could dim those twinkling lights. " Starclan, " she said, now alone as the other cats had gone far ahead. " my mind, my soul, and my heart have been so troubled. I know that the clans will find peace and health and that our quest will be succesful, but I can't see myself in such a place. All that has happened to me, all that I've done has . . . changed me. Before I was care free and just had fun with Chir but . . . I remembered . . . and I ki.lled. . . Please, when this is all over, give me peace and in the mean time, give me faith. " A gust of wind blew through the trees and with it thoudands of voices which only Streetfire could hear said, " Remember, when you are lost or despairing, look to us whom live on high and the stars will give you all that is needed. " The voices faded away into the stars. Peace fell over Street and a smile crossed her face. She caught up with the others and so they entered the clan.
*Silentpaw collapsed into her nest in the apprentices' den. Silent sobs racked her frame and tears ran unchecked down her scarred muzzle. How many cats had she ki.lled? How many more would be de.ad by the time the quest was over? Each thought made her choke on her breath and her pelt burned from scratches and bites. Would those bites infect her with the foaming mouth dis.ease? Silentpaw could almost feel another cat's bl.ood running through her own and her sanity fading with every heartbeat. How would they even get where they were going? Silentpaw wanted to scream as more thoughts of hopelessness battered her spirit, and horrible images from the fight earlier burning themselves into her eyes. She stood up quickly and shook her fur. Flecks of bl.ood hit the walls and ceiling of the den, and suddenly Silentpaw couldn't breath. She quietly raced out of the den and up into the tree branches above the warriors' den. She only lay back down when she has carved claw marks into the bark and slashed the wood with a blast of her powers. Silentpaw drifted off into dreams full of horror and hopelessness*
