A bunch of tips? I'm no *expert* at this, but I do know the basics, at least. This is also rather messy, but hey, it's my first try at creating a #tutorial.

I also forgot to mention lefties when talking about the controls. Sorry! For you, I'm pretty sure it would the buttons on the opposite side, i.e. the ABXY buttons. Right?

Ew, I hate pillow shading! XD Yes, lefties use ABXY, not the d-pad. Great advice! I think even I learned something from this. :D

I personaly use cellshading :D
but cell shading in coórs is so fuc**ing hard XD
but you showed me some simple (and good looking) ways to shade :)

Actually, shading with black is really a matter of mood. Black is realistic shading. Coloring with darker tones of the same color is more bright and happy and stuff. I do both.

I should have mentioned something about textures and use of contrasts.
AND NO, AIRBRUSHING WITH BLACK AND WHITE IS NOT A LEGIT WAY OF SHADING, STOP TELLING ME OTHERWISE
