(Suddenly, something lunges at Eric and knocks him to the ground just as a bullet whizzes past his neck.)
Eric (dazed, stammering incoherently as he tries to get up):
AHH!! WHAT THE--... N-Neo!?
Neo (firm, sharp voice):
Huff... huff... ERIC!!! Why the hell did you leave the office without backup??? Y-you... huff... almost—
THAT SHOT COULD HAVE KILLED YOU!
Eric (stammering, at a loss for words):
I... I just...—
Neo (cutting him off, leaning over him with a frown):
You wanted to HELP? B-by running straight into a sniper’s line of fire!? THIS IS NOT A DAMN GAME!
(Sudden silence. Her voice cracks, but she doesn’t look away.)
...One more step and I’d be zipping you into a body bag.
(He looks at her silently. He notices her heavy breathing isn’t just from running, but from real fear. Neo sees the fear in his eyes.)
Neo (softer now, voice barely softened):
Don’t ever do that again. Got it?
You scared the hell out of me, Eric. Don’t make me watch you get hurt. ...Not you.
(Eric nods slowly, still trembling and barely able to speak):
I-… I’m so s-sorry...

Aaaaaaa I just LOVE how you show the bond between these two without just drawing lots of fluff - it' really refreshing and makes them much more layered characters <3
