she accidentally mutated herself to become a monster when having high emotions or exposed to the red smoke.

She tried to hide it by covering up her eye and wearing more clothing...but eventually her coworkers became suspicious of her suddenly dyed hair, nervousness, and "missing eye"

Harley was the most suspicious of them..

She was eventually caught and was put in a small cell and was put through many tests

she hated it

she was able to escape during the hour of joy

It is unknown why she came back to the facility

But she accidentally met the player

and they formed a close bond

She did go a bit crazy when against catnap but not until chapter 4 did the player truely learn about her when she experienced the smoke and with bits and peices harley gave out
