big *MIGHT* for sui'cidal and self harming topics because the mods havent moderated correctly in weeks, if fact theyve been going against their own TOS promoting @/oilonfire's posts on the colors news MULTIPLE times now. Theres an no politics/no world-news rule for a reason, no matter what side youre on you HAVE to follow the rules

@-zyik- I appreciate you work really hard on moderation but its almost everyday now i see something on colors that is clearly against the rules and my reports do -

- nothing. It feels like im yelling at a brick wall here man, it takes so long for ANY of my reports to get a response and lately ive been getting zero response at all when i report things through the app. Your simple life hack for colors is being "Just block them" doesnt even help you here eithet the blocking system needs to be fixed its literally broken, you cant even search for people to block them. I hope youre working on this but at this point I've got no hope -

- I had to pester and BEG the mods in their DM's to get someone who was harassing kids and telling them to harm themselves and send pictures of it to them a ban, I had to contact Jens (Founder of Collecting smiles) about a child predator to get them banned because the ALL other mods ignored my DM's. If they have enough time to email and puck WA and WC winners they have time to scroll on new scribbles/paintings for a a bit -

- This post was originally about how i saw uncensored and untagged heavy gore on new paintings one night but now its about moderation in general, I wish the mods didnt ignore my reports, i wish this place was safe for kids, i wish people would follow the rules but we cant always get everything we want. #Fixthemoderation starting with OUR behavior. Us as a community should take action and not post things against the rules + report anything against the rules een if its a 'vent' -

Make the mods listen to us, our pleas for a safe place that isnt infested with bad players.

ive been on colors for almost ten years now and the moderation has always been a bit on the slow/lax side, however the community itself generally tended to follow the TOS more closely than it does now and be more mature generally. not perfect, but better, especially since there wasnt as much of a rapid daily influx of new people as we do now, mostly happening due to the free demo i think. the devs are definitely slacking way more now than they did before, (cont)--

they are a small team and they are working on developing another game right now iirc (or were? heard no news about it) but, there is only so much mishandling of a whole community like this that can be excused. they need to hire more moderators, it feels kind of like theyre abandoning us just bc its too much work. the fact they address nothing about all of this is what really bothers me. :broken_heart:

bro the one time oilon won my bf had to mention use of ai and how oilons entry was political ,, which removed him as a winner -- but yet they still keep promoting him when all he does is post political stuff without it even being on nsfw atleast :sob: :pray:

Thanks for tagging me here @LYCAN . One of the plans for the near future is to post a bit of an update on the community guidelines since we've noticed that sometimes people aren't sure what qualifies as what should/shoudn't be counted as nsfw. Examples of what qualifies and what doesn't qualify is on the to-do so hopefully that makes things more clear. Also an update on the rules for the weekly challenge.

We see that with the update that added the photo import feature on switch it makes it easy for people to steal art/just copy AI generated images to use instead of making original art.

So it's likely for the future of weekly challenges that photo references will no longer be allowed since it's too easy to steal art without credit and using reverse image searches( what we tend to use to check if an image is original or not) isn't always reliable for tracking down if something is stolen or not.

@Elininjakat Unfortunately us being a small team means we aren't able to get to solving issues as quickly as we'd like to :/. A small team also means we don't have the budget for hiring additional moderation though hopefully that can change in the future or with the improved moderation features we plan to implement it makes things more effiecient for us to moderate.

We're also working on making backend improvements to the website in the future that can address some issue with it going down randomly at times.

@-zyik- Thank you for actually responding. This clears up lot but there are solutions to the moderation issue, one for example is taking on volunteers to moderate. That would fix your low budget issue, Sketchers United does moderation like that. Updating the terms would also be okay but id say follow your own terms before you do that. @/oilonfire also make posts promoting hate speech against lgbt+ which is also againt the TOS, i dont know how this guy hasnt been moderated in any way because i -

I know people have been reporting him for that aswell as not foloowing the rules in general. Id also focus on the rules now rather than updating and focusing on the rules later. It's just frustrating that it takes weeks for my reports to even get taken seriously and sometimes i feel like the you and the other mods are just ignoring me.

I'll make sure the hate speech issue is looke into asap. If they were reported recently they should be easier for us to see on our end

@-zyik- Moderation should be top priority imo, I know it may be hard but working with colors users would make it easier to catch up on things, people make posts about drama/things they see on colors a lot and if you were to see a post say they saw something aginst the rules you could comment and theyd probably tell you.
