For context, Sunset works at both the California and Florida Hotel Towers in alternating shifts as a special host from the Twilight Zone. She went on a vacation in Tokyo for the Hightower Hotel, where she meets Harrison Hightower III. But then after meeting Shiriki Utundu, her life turned upside down as she witnessed Harrison Hightower III's demise and was scarred by the same curse placed on Hightower Hotel. Lightning struck the other Hotel Towers soon after. Sunset became intense afterwards.

Meanwhile, Kira, formerly Kiki, didn't have any job until she went on a simple trip to the unique Alton Towers where she lived in the U.K. to simply experience joy. She soon found a rollercoaster called The Smiler and decided to give the ride a try. Little did she know she was accidentally volunteering in an experiment called Marmalisation, which made the subjects smile so much, it felt strained. Kiki unfortunately became permanently affected and became one of the scientists for The Smiler.

So in summary...

Sunset was involuntarily involved in an incident of both a permanently cursed lifestyle near death by one entity. And Kira became, in a way, eternally possessed by another entity all because of a ride in which believes that The Smiler and the Marmaliser are the gods of the facility.

The rest of the subjects has the Marmalisation wear off. And the Hotel Towers of Terror didn't cause any deaths. Thank the ever loving gosh...
