I ACTUALLY HEADCANON RANPO, YOSANO, AND DAZAI SEE EACH OTHER AS SIBLINGS
Dazai and Ranpo definitely just talk out their feelings together, however post Chuuya incident Dazai doesn't talk as much, so its mainly Ranpo rambling.

We don't talk about how they are after Yosano gets infected.

I SEE THE THREE AS SIBLINGS/LGBT BESTIES/JS NORMAL BESTIES/AND INSEPERABLE.

Yosano is Lesbian!
Ranpo is Gay!

I feel like when Yosano dies/gets infected Ranpo and Dazai, exactly like you mentioned, would grow silent.

I think Dazai would be the most effected, as he didn't/doesn't have much friends or true friends, or anyone who shared the same trauma (from Mori >:[ ) and similarities.

Dazai -

- would probably slowly start to grow eerie, creepy, unsettling, and insane.

While Ranpo would check in on Dazai to mke sure he doesn't loose his mind.
