Shinobu's backstory. Shinobu and Kanae(her sister) were orphans after their parents were killed by a demon. The sisters become demon slayers like their savior. Kanae was ascended to the role of the Flower Hashira but ended up in a fatal confrontation against Doma. Kanae ended up breathing her last in Shinobu's arms after being fatally wounded in the battle. Shinobu's guilt over her sisters death led her to devalop hate twords demons. Since then Shinobu smiles always like Kanae.
