(cont) I have been having such a fun time finally getting to know something my siblings love and now I understand

like even though I have finished P5R and basically have finished P3R and am decently far into P4G there is STILL MORE there are the dancing games and I have been enjoying those so much so that I played them so much that my hands physically hurt from playing them so much and theres P5 strikers and tactica and if I feel so inclined there's the fighting games and the Q games

(there's still more!) and if I also feel so inclined there's P1 and P2 (although I'm not sure how accessible they are they are on the older side) and the animes (I know not all of them are that good but they are there) and there is so much fan content and analysis videos and so SO much more it's like I opened the flood gates to something I cannot come back from and there's also whenever P6 and the P4 remake is coming out so there is that!

But to summarize persona as a whole has a chokehold on me and honestly I am just so glad I was introduced to it because I hold a Very deap love for it

and that's not even the full extent of it!
for those wondering "why is your persona crying?" well my dear friend

I have been stomping on my heart and tearing it to shreds like a low level shadow (please laugh at my Very funny joke I have peak humor lol) but all jokes aside the games are fully capable of making you sad and hey maybe I'm just sensitive but I'm still sad about (there are too many things that are also too spoiler heavy to mention)

and there's more!

so there is a ship from one of the games that I shiped AS A JOKE A joke but then I became very serious about it as the game progressed I slowly fell in love with it so much so that it began to take over my mind every moment spent not doing something was spent thinking about it so much so to the point that to stop it I HAD to find an outlet witch was writing about the ship and now I have been semi freed from it's grasp but only semi not completely

now let me say this I do not normally do ships (this may have to do with my aromantisum) but if I do it's usually as a joke or if it's already canon or I just overall don't take it that seriously but this ship this one ship has done all of that to me and it's so stupid how persona has done this to me lol T-T

Also for those wondering who the ship is about the reasons why I like this ship does in a lot of ways have to do with the plot of the game so as not to spoil the game think of pancakes and a trickster or is that too on the nose?

but ether way I LOVE these games and if this in any way at all convinced you to play the games please do they are so good!!

obviously they are not perfect in any way they each have their own flaws (like not letting you date people of the same s*x) but they are really good so please if you can go play them for yourself or at the very least watch playthroughs of the game if you can!

to start off strong my Absolute favorite is Joker I Love him so much to start off I love how he has so many dialog options that are just him making jokes like the fact that there are so many times you can joke about him only eating curry to him saying he likes men to a shadow to him being able to say honey I'm home to Akechi (and also the fact that he responds with you're home awfully late)

@Stellar_pen_skills (ran out of space) or the duality of his personally and how in the real world he's just an unassuming dork but in the metaverse he's SO cool! like that man has so much aura for lack of a better word and I love the way that he looks (honestly I just really like how most of the characters are designed in general lol) and how he's just overall a nice guy who cares a lot about the people around him I love him so much!

I personally like Ren Amamiya because that's the one I was introduced to first but I also like Akira and I've also seen some people combine them and call him Akiren and as for last names uhhh... (I legit only know Amamiya lol)
but side tangent aside next up on my little mental tear list is bumbadabum Akechi! so I remember you saying you didn't finish P5 so I do have to be a bit vague depending on how much you know about him

so like I know a lot of people don't like Akechi but I Love him he has a lot of depth to him and I love his relationship and dynamic with joker and just how Deranged he is in the third semester I love just how funny his prince outfit looks (specifically his stupid bird mask it's so dumb lol) and I love his other metaverse outfit (I like to call them his licorice jammies)

@Stellar_pen_skills I think it looks really cool and it fits him so well and I just overall find him to be a very interesting character and just how royal added so much to him as a character and while I have only played P5R and not the original game I do know a lot of people didn't like him because of the fact that he was more or less a plot device and would just randomly appear and info dump on joker unprompted and leave but in royal his social link was made to be optional

Tbh Akechi makes me uneasy (which is good actually)
i like how his antagonistic tendencies are slowly introduced to us through his social link
like when we play darts and pool with him!
he starts showing his true colors even if its just minor glimpses

@Stellar_pen_skills instead of automatic and as many people agree it added a lot more depth to him also he's one of the few social links that start because they approached joker first not the other way around also unlike all of the other social links you don't help him with anything and as I saw one person describe it before rank eight it's basically just the two of them going on dates together from playing billards to going to the aquarium to the jazz club

even though he isn't really one of my favs, i do think he is one of the better written characters!
And im glad he holds such an important story-role, without him P5 would be a lot blander

witch something I find interesting is the fact that he even brings joker to the jazz club to begin with like the jazz club is a fairly important place to him and as he states he has never brought anyone else to there joker is the first person ever (the owner even confirms this stating that it's very rare to see him with other people there at the end of the game) like just his relationship with joker alone has so much depth to it

@Stellar_pen_skills yes I agree I think without him the game would've been a lot more bland (but even so the game is very good)

the inherent hømøerøtišiśm of being parallels yet opposites is what makes their relationship work i think...
like, regardless of wether you see their bond as romantic or platonic, their relationship is very important to P5's themes of building bonds and finding community!

@Stellar_pen_skills so if Joker wasn't Joker and Akechi wasn't Akechi my absolute favorite would be Yusuke I find him to be pretty relatable (I am struggling so hard right now lol how do you spell things and the recommendations are not helping) like he's just a silly guy who just wants to eat food and make art and I think that's beautiful and he's also very passionate about art like I am and while I could never hope to be as eccentric as him I will defend art and creativity

i understand how you feel about him, i feel similarly!
though there is an added layer in my case, i relate A LOT to him specifically his relationship with art during his stay with Madarame
it was painfully relatable to me.
Also i admire his ability to be so eccentric and not care what others think, i was a pretty weird child who got made fun of a lot so its cool to see someone like me be happy! :)

in it there is a cutscene where it shows what would happen if you married one of your teammates, and in Yusuke's one he wears a traditional Japanese wedding outfit!
also the fact that his school uniform closely resembles a gakuran uniform (tradional Japanese school uniform) is another indicator

I love Futaba as well she's soo silly and funny (and gay like just look at her mementos dialog) I also find her to be pretty relatable as well like how she struggles with crowds and public spaces like I may not freak out in them but I act like a lost duckling like I don't know what to do with myself in public at all and there's also the fact that she and I don't go out much so I also find her relatable in that aspect too

(also she reminds me of an inkling from splattoon) also fun fact much like Ryuji she is one of the few characters who dyed her hair the way that it is so that's pretty cool! also while I personally am against shipping her with Joker because they're basically siblings if you romance her on valentines day she gives you a cupcake thing that looks like Morgana so that's interesting

@Stellar_pen_skills ok so Ryuji I like how he's always there for you and even at the beginning of the game he's pretty friendly and even gives you healing items in *********'s palace and even awakens to his persona to save Joker and Morgana and might I also mention the fact that at some point in his social link (I forget witch rank) he just outright gives you an instakill so if shadows are lower level then you you can just run them over or slash right through them!

@Stellar_pen_skills (anyway) like it is so helpful in the long run and because P5 is a one hundred plus hour game it's very helpful! (though I wish I learned that sooner lol) I also like his dynamic with Joker as well like besides from Yosuke from P4 he's my favorite best friend character though Junpei is a close third (honestly I just like the best friend characters in general) he's just there to be your homie and always has your back

@Stellar_pen_skills I also just think all the times you can flirt with him or make gay jokes are pretty funny and I also like his little quirk of liking ramen or how even if he can be a bit stupid at times he means well and is just overall a silly guy who loves his friends

i also adore his story line, its very cathartic to me
being excluded is hard and painful, specially when it is for doing the right thing!
despite that we not only see he get his justice but also him coming to terms with everything
i also appreciate that they don't invalidate his anger, sometimes in such situations its considered "bad" to be mad, but in Ryuji's story line was handled well i think

i went and go through similar stuff and usually people try to invalidate these feelings of rage and resentment, but in the end if you don't let yourself feel them you'll never recover

and ultimately he came out better and well accompanied in the end!
