I greatly appreciate every one of you sharing a little compliment, and in some cases, a thoughtful comment. ^_^ It really means a lot to me.
@mcollins
For the most part, I'm with yo there. I usually use references all the time as well, however, I think it's good to stretch your imagination and mind's eye from time to time.
12 Jun, 2025, 12:24 am
@TTB910
In my case, I've been using coloring books, and drawing for as long as I can remember. I've heard it said that by doing something for a thousand hours, you become a master at it. Well, between Colors3D on 3DS and ColorsLive on Switch, I've put 4,000+ hours into digital painting, and the occasional doodle.
Put simply, practice makes perfect, and I've been doing this for a long time.
If you are passinate about art, and this something you want to do, keep at it. You'll figure it out.

12 Jun, 2025, 12:36 am
can you maybe help me with tips and stuff like a supporter?
12 Jun, 2025, 1:02 am
@TTB910
I'd be honored to. Just remember, you might not see big improvements all at once. It'll probably take time and a lot of effort.
For a good start, feel free to mention me either in a comment or description if you'd like my feedback on something you've drawn.
Lastly, don't be afraid to use references when you're painting something. In my painting class, my instructor layed objects in the center of the room, and had us paint what we saw from our individual perspective.

12 Jun, 2025, 1:09 am
do i need a phone for references?
12 Jun, 2025, 1:14 am
oh sorry i was thinking of mods for the layers
12 Jun, 2025, 1:15 am
i think thats what its called
12 Jun, 2025, 2:53 am
@TTB910
There's several ways to use references:
You could use the QR code system,
you could set up another screen (computer monitor, smartphone, etc...),
photograph,
Object placed on table,
and so on.
You can draw or paint them however you like. Just have a go t it.
Sometimes I'll use objects in a scene, to represent another object or character, and use the object as a study for pose or perspective.

18 Jun, 2025, 3:35 am
@TTB910
Go right ahead. Thank you for asking. : )
18 Jun, 2025, 3:44 am
@ben234
I draw like this when I get an idea. I suppose I've studied enough, and have been doing this long enough, that I can start drawing lines about where I think they ought to be, make some minor adjustments where needed, and just let the flow take over until I'm satisfied with the results. Just for reference, I've been drawing digital art like this almost 12 years now, and I've been drawing for as long as I can remember.
18 Jun, 2025, 6:47 am
thanks for the info dude

@The_Adjudicator yo someone that goes by @Hannah16 stole ur art and didnt crdit u, i reccomend turning remix off
28 Jun, 2025, 6:57 pm
@Gnab_nahcX3
I made this remixable so that other artists can remix/share it on their own galleries. Anyone can see that others remixed it, and come to my gallery to see the original. It's already received a bunch more new likes for it. Really, I should thank Hannah for helping grow my presence here. : )
28 Jun, 2025, 7:10 pm
@The_Adjudicator ohhhh ok ok! mb abt the mixup, they js didmt give credit to u nd it kinda got me mad, amazng drawing btw!
28 Jun, 2025, 7:39 pm
@Gnab_nahcX3
While plagiarism is indeed a problem, and I would prefer credit be given to the original artist, At least here on Colorslive it's easy to trace back to the source material when remixing something. Besides, I'm not monetizing anything in my Gallery, so it's not like I'm at risk of loosing customer value when others repost something on their page. But I should thank you as well for the concerns.
29 Jun, 2025, 11:45 am
@The_Adjudicator sorry its just soooooooooo good!
29 Jun, 2025, 7:41 pm
@Hannah16
No worries, I don't mind :smile: And thank you for the compliment.

:O no way.. please teach me your ways :pray:
24 Aug, 2025, 4:36 pm
@avataranime-gurl
I'd be happy to teach you what I can. : )
I often use references as a study material. The more I study the physical appearance of something, the more confident I become to paint it from memory, or without reference.
For example; this dragon eye. I have some pictures I:ve aken of reptiles such as lizards, snakes, etc.., and I sometimes find myself staring at them, and running scenarios in my mind of how I might paint their eyes on my Switch.
24 Aug, 2025, 4:40 pm
(Continued)
Some of them I have set on rotation for my desktop background. I've seen them so many times, that I could describe them, with some accuracy, from memory. With enough practice, you can translate that bility to describe detail, into painting said details.
If you're passionate about becoming a better artist, keep practicing. You'll get better over time, I promise. I've been doing this for over a decade. If you compare some of my earliest work, to my most recent, you'll see growth.
24 Aug, 2025, 4:52 pm
i need to be more chill and not rush art, thats the main issue for me, as you can see my timeing on art its like 15 to 20 minutes or even 10. its because im very energetic with art and sometimes i need to be more relaxed then feeling like to race.
24 Aug, 2025, 4:53 pm
but i feel like ive gotten much better! overall i need to work with digital art and try to learn more, im sadly more of a traditional artist but i love digital, i just need practice like you said! :D
20 Sep, 2025, 11:08 am
so coool how you draw like this so good amazing mwa
21 Sep, 2025, 8:46 am
@Tinkabelle
I have many years of practice here. : ) Practice makes perfect.
21 Sep, 2025, 9:40 am
trueeee i like 2 say im okay at drawing and digitaly drawing helps some how for me i draw like a anime goofy style i guess what would u say your art styles like??
23 Sep, 2025, 2:04 am
@Tinkabelle
I thnk my style is a pseudo-realism. I like to try my best with realistic details, and I Occasionally try my hand at photo realism. But when it comes to originals, I usually try to keep references to a minimum to stretch my imagination.
25 Sep, 2025, 2:08 pm
cool so whats petseo realsim if u dont mind me asking
25 Sep, 2025, 10:43 pm
@Tinkabelle
It seems I made a typo XD I meant Pseudo-realism.
"Speudo" means that is is almost, or not quite there. While I can do photo-realism with the help of photo references, making true realism in the traditional meaning is something I'm not quite experienced with yet.

disegno spettacolare wow
04 Apr, 2026, 8:02 pm
@The_Adjudicator you drew that dragon eye so well it is extremely realistic
05 Apr, 2026, 3:53 am
@ProfessionalMedia67
I've been thibking about aking a third one of these soon based on a fire elemental dragon. Though it may be a whle before I get to it. They're also long term projects, iften taking weeks to complete. But the final product is worth the effort.
05 Apr, 2026, 3:18 pm
ok @The_Adjudicator but also you misspelled "think"
05 Apr, 2026, 3:18 pm
you also misspelled "making"
05 Apr, 2026, 3:18 pm
also is "iften" supposed to mean "often"?
05 Apr, 2026, 4:21 pm
@ProfessionalMedia67
Yeah, I made a few typos with my reply. I didn't proofread it first like I should have. You were correct to point them out.
05 Apr, 2026, 4:52 pm
ok @The_Adjudicator
because you are a good artist with realistic art, are you able to draw realistic spiders, insects, dragons, crocodiles, snakes, hybrids, birds, bats, dinosaurs, plants, weather, and even unnamed types of monsters/creatures?
06 Apr, 2026, 8:25 pm
@ProfessionalMedia67
I suppose I could. I don't have a lot of experience painting some of those things, but you're never really too old to get more practice and training for your mind and body.
06 Apr, 2026, 11:07 pm
oh ok @The_Adjudicator
and also can you tell @surfcurse @angelwing_ and @largebuttocks to stop trying to flirt with me and can you please have them stop trying to marry me? i think its weird that they romantically love me, so can you ask/tell them to stop? thanks
08 Apr, 2026, 4:00 am
@ProfessionalMedia67
With all due respect, I think it's best I don't get myself involved in petty squabbling like that. I'm not a moderator, and I'm too old to risk involvement.
That being said, perhaps I could give some advice for now. I understand how frustrating and infuriating that behavior may be, but your responses are the reason they act that way. Some people taunt and tease other people they perceive as weak or vulnerable. They get a laugh when you respond.
08 Apr, 2026, 4:04 am
Perhaps the best advice I can give is to just report the comments. Don't delete them, don't respond to them, don't reply. Just hit report. Block them if you think you need to, but if you report them enough, it may ban their accounts.
Whatever you do, just stop giving them comments/replies for them to laugh at. It doesn't matter what you say, they're going to think it's funny. That's just the way they are. They have no respect for you.
18 Apr, 2026, 7:17 pm
@The_Adjudicator ok i wont repsond to them nor reply to them nor delete them
i would only report the comment if it was inappropriate enough for me to think it would be necessary, and i would report the comment if it contained profanity/slurs or death threats or something so offensive that i wouldnt tolerate it without its moderation
18 Apr, 2026, 7:20 pm
also if the comment were just trying to distract me or annoy me or make fun of me, i would delete the comment and ignore it and forget it was ever sent, and also if someone repeatedly commented rude stuff on my painting even after i delete the previous comments then i would probably block them
19 Apr, 2026, 8:14 am
@ProfessionalMedia67
The main reason I advise not to delete a comment (yet) is because it can be used as evidence of abuse, and you don't want to get rid of evidence that you are being abused.
19 Apr, 2026, 1:58 pm
@The_Adjudicator i could press the delete button on a comment, then i could enable "add to blocklist" and/or "report as inappropriate" when i am deleting the comment before official deletion
