I greatly appreciate every one of you sharing a little compliment, and in some cases, a thoughtful comment. ^_^ It really means a lot to me.
@mcollins For the most part, I'm with yo there. I usually use references all the time as well, however, I think it's good to stretch your imagination and mind's eye from time to time.
@TTB910 In my case, I've been using coloring books, and drawing for as long as I can remember. I've heard it said that by doing something for a thousand hours, you become a master at it. Well, between Colors3D on 3DS and ColorsLive on Switch, I've put 4,000+ hours into digital painting, and the occasional doodle.
Put simply, practice makes perfect, and I've been doing this for a long time. If you are passinate about art, and this something you want to do, keep at it. You'll figure it out.
@TTB910 I'd be honored to. Just remember, you might not see big improvements all at once. It'll probably take time and a lot of effort.
For a good start, feel free to mention me either in a comment or description if you'd like my feedback on something you've drawn.
Lastly, don't be afraid to use references when you're painting something. In my painting class, my instructor layed objects in the center of the room, and had us paint what we saw from our individual perspective. #StillLife
@TTB910 There's several ways to use references: You could use the QR code system, you could set up another screen (computer monitor, smartphone, etc...), photograph, Object placed on table, and so on.
You can draw or paint them however you like. Just have a go t it. Sometimes I'll use objects in a scene, to represent another object or character, and use the object as a study for pose or perspective.
