It's June first, and of course that means the Lgbt+ community HAVE to be acknowledged and be somewhat more tolerated to the homøphobics... be gay do crime queer community./j
In all seriousness though, I hope everyone in the Lgbt+ community feels seen beyond pride month itself and that y'all are doing well ^^
Idk I just drew our he/they allegory Looey up here and his two best friends the pan flag and the third wheeling straight flag.
#looey #yatta #blot #pride #pridemonth
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

Surely you don't think us straight folk are all that bland do you?
And just to get this off my shoulders (not as any personal attack or anything against the LGBT+ Community), I'm tired of seeing the slurs being thrown at one another. Maybe it's because I don't look at enough pride art/posts, but I feel like I see an overwhelmingly onesided amount of hømophobe and trànsphobe slurs being thrown around, which I'm sure is used in retaliation.

In defense of people with hømophobia, you don't see a person with arachnophobia repulse at the sight of a spider, and respond calling them arachnophobe; or the same response to a person with ophidiophobia repulsing at the sight of a snake.
Snakes and spiders are very beneficial to their local bioms, keeping pests such as rodent and insect populations under control, yet they are despised and repulsed without discretion.

Likewise, in defense of the LGBT community, you have your rights and freedom to express yourself, and people should be willing to understand and respect that. I'm sorry that there's a lot of terminally online people disrespecting a whole community. If it bothers them, they have the right to not engage, and not interact. There's better places for them to waste their time that doesn't involve being disrespectful.
Appologies for my little rant. I just wanted to get that off my shoulders.

@The_Adjudicator
For you're fisrt statement, certainly not- I truly believe that we are all equal regardless of what we identify as, which is what I see a lack of in reality. Apologies if that seemed like my intent/message.
And that's certainly true, slurs are thrown around nonchalantly despite the undoubted vulgarity and disrespect of it.
Absolutely, homøphobia is an unintentional ideology, just like how you described with the snake and spider analogy. I always felt that unlike that there is so much open hate towards the community; attacking minors and adults regardless of their intents. Having a month just to celebrate all that went on in the past (such as the Stonewall riot and the numerous deaths of LGBT+ people by authorities).
Ultimately, yes, we all have to respect our different or contrasting ideologies and not discriminate eachother for (what society makes,) the massive label of séxuality, I do hope one day communities of people won't attack one another and rather co-exist ^^
Ranting online is a good way to express you're ideas and concerns while still remaining primarily anonymous, and like you said, it'll lighten the burden you carry in you :]

@secondhandtricks
I greatly appreciate your level headed and kindly thoughtout response. The first part was partially spoken in jest. My mind lingered toward Disney's The Lion King (the scene where the hyena were downtalking lions, and Scar enters with the quip "surely we lions aren't all that bad?").
I believe the key is thoughtful conversation. There's a serious lack of deep and intentional conversation on the internet. Too much talking about, not enough talking with.

gay people existed in the 1980s because my dad was born there and it was considered weird. my dad tried to be gay when he was a teen and it wasnt for him
