I'm bored by Silly-chu

Ask me about my art, or ask for tips if you want!

I am NOT a professional(obv) but I have been drawing for 14 years(maybe more)

@Cupcake4me I don't have any particular tips, but I usually draw men with more visable chins and Adams apple(not the only ways to show a difference). Male and female shoulders are a bit different as well. I would DEFINITELY use references!

@SHICHI-39 What do you have trouble with for eyes specifically? Anatomy? Pupil/iris placement? Something else? And for hands I tend to use a lot of references, and I did a lot if life drawing in school. I find it helpful to break hands(and feet) into simple shapes/chunks!

Also fun things for realism/life drawing:
-My teachers made us look at the subject we were drawing more than the paper(I found it fun and it helped!)
-And we did a continuous line contours(basically the same (continued ---)

--- thing, tracing over everything you're looking at, not really looking at the paper, except you don't lift your hand. Useless info but fun ig!

@SHICHI-39 Hmmm Okay. Looking at my face now as well, I make sure the eyes start at the end edges of the nose(nostrils), and for the space on the outside I leave a few cm or mm(depending on the side of the drawing). This works best for realistic proportions, but I can still use the same general for my chibi art.

(And just for genral facial anatomy(will help with the eyes)the space from the bottom of the nose to the top of the lip is shorter, than the space from the bottom of the lips to the end of the chin)

@SHICHI-39 And (for anything, but especially eyes), I found it was easier to draw things when we were made to study anatomy for self portraits, because now I actually new WHAT I was drawing, ex. The line above the eye is the upper eyelid, when people have lines below the eye it's because of the fat stored in the lower lid squishing, etc. That's all I can think of right now, I hope I was able to help a bit!

@Stellar_pen_skills AH, I almost didn't see this one.
I over render, and I use a mix of the paintdrush tools and airbrush(sometimes the special shading tools).
Order of how I do it:
-Base layer
-I use the bigger/soft paintbrush tool, choose a darker shade(sometimes complementary)
-Adjust opacity continuously while drawing until it ALMOST maches the base layer
-If there's any harsh lines I use the airbrush to blend it
-Keep rendering until I like it, That's it I think!

@Stellar_pen_skills and I use the multiply/and the other tool I forgot the name of, the highlight one, for the overall lighting of the piece!
