i've seen a couple times... recently an youtuber i admire even made an video about it! its sad, the lack of respect people have for artists and their hard work :(
I have a bit of a hot take when it comes to AI generated graphics. I think it -can- be benefitial to artists, but will likely be used against us at first.
The biggest problem is that it makes it easier for corpos to generate material without paying art teams. However, that problem will be mitigated by no one buying their cheap garbage.
Savvy artists on the other hand, could use these resources as study material. You have to admit, AI generated graphics are impressive, if not yet uncanny.
(Continued) There will always be a market for traditional art, though it may be a bit difficult at this stage of events for artists to make a successful career out of their hobbies. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see where things go from here.
@The_Adjudicator Honestly, that's a good point. AI is intended as a tool and I think it could be an asset to those who use it alongside traditional art (example: me looking at AI art to figure out how to "render" drawings). Maybe the key is to use AI to enhance creativity instead of using AI in lieu of it.
Well, the way I see it, AI is here, whether we like it or not. A lot of artists in the entertainment industry are loosing their livelihoods to corpos who don't want to pay expensive animators, actors, writers, etc.., and these artists break themselves fighting against it. It's a lot like the "Roko's Basilisk" thought experiment if you think about it.
