I stood under the Gardiner Expressway to find shade as I did this one. There were no atmospherics on this crisp, cool autumn day. I added some in at the very end. Plein-air.
Thanks guys... :). Yeah, have to find shade all the time! Sitting in the car and painting is one way... This one, above, I I was really chilly by the end of it... brrrrrrrrr....
You've inspired me. I appreciate you for braving the cold weather for your art and our visual enjoyment. This is a beautiful painting. And, fully intend to paint more plein-air paintings. Have you thought about my suggesting you shoot video of the gallery showing of your Colors! DS paintings and posting it on Vimeo? That way those of us who don't live anywhere near the gallery you're showing your art in will get the chance to enjoy the festivities, as well. I for one, would love to go but, I live nowhere near Canada.
Oh, I'm basking in this one. My new fav' of your architecture studies. It would be cool if you revisited it a few more times as the skeleton is slowly covered up.

The lighting on the crane is brilliant! Nice contrasts, and a very pleasing composition.

Also, I meant to ask if you would possibly make a book of these for sale to the general public?

This is amazing. Your other work is too but I really like the detailed architecture, the lighting is what really makes this piece pop though.
