i tested my theory 5 times and it worked! :D
steps to make it happen:
1) grab a new canvas (i used full screen)
2) make at least 3 layers
3) on the lowest layer, use C. Bristle at max size and 50ish opacity and color the whole layer like i did (watch replay)
4) then go to the next layer, use a normal pencil and doodle smth
5) then use "select and move tool" with the "sample from all layers" on; select the whole scribble
6) now u should have a black screen

The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

:warning:IMPORTANT:warning:
Sometimes it doesn't work! But i found a way to make it happen, every time:
IF after you selected the scribble your screen did NOT turn black, then click "undo" and select again, your screen will inevitably turn black then
→ the black screen is not permanent and doesn't cause particular issues, just click "undo" after the screen is black and it will go back to normal! :D

WAAAAIIIT THATS ACTUALLY SO WEIRD
cause if u do it on the other layer with the c brush it stays normal-

It's great that you include directions on how to reproduce the bug.

@The_Adjudicator
thank u! :D
i've come across many glitches and bugs but i never reported them because i did not know why they would appear...
i think that reporting a bug/glitch by saying "there's a bug/glitch" without anything that can actually help the creators is not useful at all, so i try to experiment on a blank canvas my theories and trying to understand why they appear before reporting so that it can be easier for the creators to find the issue ^^

@RachelDraws
Same here. I know the save-crash bug is still a problem for artists here, and I think I know what's causing it, but I haven't been able to find consistant ways of causing it to happen. I am convinced it can be avoided by resetting the software often. It could be the result of RAM overflow, in which too much data gets stored on the RAM, and painting for too long corrupts the playback before it can save.

oh yes! i've been trying to figure that one out too! it happens to me at times, so i save every 2-5 min just in case ahaha TwT (it's an actual nightmare).
Haven't seen that for like 2 months, so i guess saving often is good advice to avoid this problem, but also cuz if it were to happen, not much progress would be lost :)

@If it is a RAM issue, any time you browse the online galkery, it stores the thumbnail data of other paintings you browse on the RAM, which is why they are still immediately visible even if you go offline. Wile painting, the playback data is also stored on the RAM. Your system's RAM has limited space. My theory is; eventually the data over flows the RAM limit, and begins rewriting over the current playback, corrupting it.
A least it doesn't successfully save corrupted data over your progress

i'm no computer expert but that sounds reasonable! XD
