I wonder what's the fastest Shadow could run without those shoes? They function more like roller-skates rather than running sneakers. Has Shadow ever run at high speed in a more traditional way before, or has he only ever skated around on those? I haven't played every Sonic game, so I don't actually know.

@The_adjudicator I've never actually seem him without his shoes, even in the games and comics. I don't think he could run very fast without them.

Shadow always seems to skate around when running, with little movement in his legs once he reaches a high enough velocity. It's interesting that Sega gave Sonic that one thing over Shadow, yet giving Shadow something to even the playing ground (as far as running speed goes that is).

@The_Adjudicator Actually I thought about it a little there is a cutscene in sonic adventure 2 where they are running together and Shadow is able to keep pace with him without using his shoes, untill he eventually starts using them to keep up. So yeah, shadow can run pretty fast. the airshoes just enhance his speed more
