@Mewsea I'm horrible at explaining things but I'll give it a shot :P My animations on here have been pretty simplistic and limiting since this isn't an animation app but with that my approach for timing has been super simple aswell . I use the select fill tool on the outside of the canvas to make the playback hold that layer for a duration . If I want a layer to hold longer I make more loops outside the canvas and if I don't want it to hold long then I'll do maybe 1 or 2 loops . Not all panels of animation are suppose to exude an intense amount of motion , and those are usually the ones I try to hold longer . For example , if you were animating someone jumping their would be a panel where their feet would be planted on the ground . It would make sense for that part of the animation to hold longer since you would need to prep some momentum for the jump ... I'm still learning to animate myself so I'll sometimes check YouTube to find some tutorials to help get a better understanding . Pretty much the timing is very dependent on what it is you're trying to animate , I think the best advice I could give you is to start with something simple and gradually as you continue to practice you'll understand more and more .
I've seen a few people animate on here using the blank layer trick to help avoid the blinking like effect that tends to happen otherwise , but I haven't tried the trick out myself yet tbh I don't fully understand it .

Yes, more animations from you!
Alright, I think I see what you're doing here. You're manipulating the layers in a way that it makes it look like it's animated.
Now, do you use a solid white layer to flip between the animations? How do you get it timed right?
If it's difficult to explain in words, I get it. I'll figure it out eventually through practice, anyway.
