PSA - Remake of Ch. 1 by Aidre

Just a heads up, I'm remaking chapter 1 as a little bit of an experiment.
It'll be 'What if my comic is an OEL manga?'
(Basically what if my comic is a manga?) So~~ #manga #PSA
I'll likely be uploading it on here! :star: Stay tuned! #MGAinfo #comic

@Proxyprepp I will say one thing, 'keeping it fun and exciting' is different from "having no idea(s)" which I'm suffering from the latter somewhat. I guess I can tell you what I know- Although I'm not too sure myself if it's working.

You probably already have an idea of the story. There you can look through it from a frams:
-What do you want this story to be?
-What do you want it to have?
-How is it structured ect.?
For mine, I'm following loosely the Hero's Journey but doing my own thing and trying to make sure to focus on what's important to keep things rolling. Some say keep your notes organised. Like my heroine Hitomi-She has issues talking with people, what can I do to help remedy this? Like a tree housing the main story, it should branch out into ideas right? Then it's a matter of picking which branch and leaves (ideas) to follow! There's a few ideas that didn't fit within my serie's timeframe so they're put aside as I focus on my main plot. It's kind of asking yourself all these questons-and towards the story. I will say it is hard,

To keep people entertained, it's usually 3 levels I think? From what I noticed, it's like:
1, Following your [mc] POV. No matter what they do, a reader follows them and so, have them engage with stuff that happens internally or externally at points. Readers can somewhat tell when something's forced, but it's all YMMV.
2. The initial premise. What does your story promise somewhat...? Is it offering~ romance, friendship, adventure, fairies? It can be tertiary with very few or a lot of things. Trying not to overwhelm of course. These initial motives and ideas are usually what draws me in, having stuff on offer. Like seeing girls get stronger, animals, characters learning to fly and it's all fun. But the 1st point seems to be the biggest pull in for most, an interesting mc.
3, Character interactions. -This seems to also be a big point. As people tend to say, nothing happens if no interaction/friction occurs. Have interesting characters and how they interact with eachother and the world, usually produces a good story on top of the other two points. Dialogue is surprisingly important too, but overall, communicating the story well helps engage a reader, and to reel them in, has to be something they're after. And you might have to be the one to convince them! Usually a relatable situation that draws you in can do the trick. It's good to keep in mind what your age demographic is, yes!

I'm currently trying to make sure readers engage and like my characters a lot, but it can be a tough crowd! So I try all sorts of depictions that I feel are interesting or unique. That's another secret tip I have! 4. Doing something that's particular to your set-up or world, can entice people into reading. Of course art also sells a story. But if you've ever heard the "Art great, story bad" | "Story good, art bad" point some make, it shows that there's potential in all regions even if you're struggling to come up with something. There's a possibility one of your focal points is really landing with a reader. This is all within my opinion though.

So yeah if there's any sort of problems occuring or you need any sort of guidance with writing I guess, ask me any time!
I'm nor too succint, so that came out lengthy like a passage in a book, but hopefully it helps you in some way with making your stuff! Comic's like other media also need writing too, however some fly by the seat of their pants, so it all depends on your goals and how you want to go with it!
