Yes, they do hurt, but only after your orthodontist works on them whenever you have an appointment.
The brackets I had on were smooth so my lips and cheeks were completely fine from those most of the time. :thumbsup:
Foods that you definitely shouldn't have are hard foods you have to bite hard into like corn on the cob or apples.
Make sure you cut up those foods to prevent any hard bites that could break a bracket off.

I won't sugarcoat it, it sucks getting them on (and off later on) and quite frankly is probably the worst part of the entire process. (Or maybe I just had awful experience Idk :sob:)
