Darkest Day (Chapter 2, Prince Sunrise) by Your_Local_Weirdo
This was it. My first ball. "Sunrise!" my sister called. "C'mon! We have a ball to attend!" "Shesh, Sunset!" My little sister was always impatient. But that didn't matter. I was here, in the main Dark Suns castle. During the ball, I saw a girl, roughly my age, in front of a line of boys her age. Each time they seemed affectionate, but each time she shook her head. Then the boy would stomp off, and the next boy would come in to take his place. Than repeat.

Soon enough, she shoved the boy in the front of the line away from her, and ran away in tears. "Stargaze! Come back!" Stargaze. The princess of Dark. She wasn't looking at where she was headed. I was lost in thought. What happened was that she ran into me. We both fell to the ground. Next thing I know, I'm being pulled up and scolded by two guards I don't know. "Sunrise!" Mother is running over to me, with an expression of fear and anger mixed up into one emotion.

"You have got some nerve grabbing the prince of Suns like that!" Princess Stargaze stood up, then said, "You're Sunrise?" I nod. "Guards, let him go." The guards seemed stunned. "But, Princess Stargaze, he-" "No, it was my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going." The guards let me go. Princess Stargaze passed me a tiny slip of paper, and whispered, "Meet there tomorrow night." As she walked away, her mom scowled at me. I opened the paper, and it was a map. "I'll be t,here" I whispered back.
