At least Palicos have undergone tremendous improvement since their first iteration in MH: Freedom Unite. Back in those days, bomb throwing felyne fighters (as they were called then) were absoutely the worst. I can't recall how often mine would blow me up along side the monster, and they did deal friendly fire damage. They did cause sonic bomb effect for monsters vulnerable to loud noises, but they never threw the bembs at a convenient or useful time.
Okay, I'm done with my rant.

On a relevant note, the cell shading effects at use here reminds me of the cell shading used in TLoZ: the Wind Waker.
And I like that a lot.

Hey, I'm cool with hearing MH rants anytime.
There still could be a few improvements to the palico mechanics... The timing of Vigorwasp palicoes is not great. By the time they trigger you are either carted, or halfway through a potion.
