Yeah, I have a love/hate relationship with hands... When I draw them from reference, it's so easy and satisfying. But when I rely on my memory, it's trickier and I hate them, haha.

I worked really hard on this, and although I'm still not 100% satisfied with the results, it was worth it! I totally looked at references for the wallpaper background too, haha. I just changed the colors on one I found that I really liked.

I'll definitely draw you a better gift, though, one of these days! Just you wait!

@SaltineCracker Thanks, Justine! Yeah, it's interesting that you should mention the colors because that's the hardest part for me, haha. I have the sketch and lineart finished in an hour, but the rest of that time is devoted to coloring. I stress over color too much, I think... I redid some of the shading because it looked flat... I tend to forget that rounder objects should be shaded on either sides to make it appear more rounded, like her skirt or her arms... But I fixed it!

I also think I make coloring more difficult than it needs to be.... I like a really smooth finish, so I tend to use a bigger brush because the gradient looks more seamless... But that also leads to me coloring outside the lineart, so I have to go back and erase those mistakes.
