(Additional notes)
While studying my dog for this sketch, I noticed a few interesting things about her that I never knew about dogs.
Firstly, there's a membrane of skin between each toe, like webbing. Used for swimming perhaps?
Secondly, any claws on her paw that ends in white fur also has white claws. It seems the pigment in her fur is also transfered in the claws at the same spot.

Avatar is very cute! and yes, the membranes are for swimming, i believe. (don't quote me on that, though)

also, did you know that horse hooves also are white-ish where light fur is, and black-blue-ish where dark fur is? just like dogs!

Wonderful sketch!

Sometimes the odd nail coloring can also be caused by skin color.
Many dogs have spotted skin, which can affect nails, paw pads, noses, and even gums.
Pit bulls make some of the best dogs.

My favorite dog I've owned (didn't even want her at first) was an engish setter rottie mix. Folks just came back from shoppingand dumped her on my lap and said her name was Chica. And they left her with me while they went to church. Sense she looked like a rottie I made sure she was good with kids and was trained. She guarded mom chickens and no matter where she was in the yard, I could call her name and She'd run over and sit next to me. Once in a lifetime dog she was.<3

Chica sounds like she would have been a wonderful companion to have. : ) When my friend's pitbulls breeded together, he invited a bunch of us from our friend circle to come and meet them, back when they were just little whimpering potato dogs. We often let the pup have playdates together.

And yeah, I know about the trademark/signature ordeal. I don't monetize my art here, and I make it public for everyone to share and admire. Even if I hid my signature somewhere, shady people would still steal and resale it on another website with the trademark/signature there all the same. Unless you want to scour the internet and reclaim your art on every platform it is stolen and sold on, there's not really anything you can do about it.

On the other hand, if I were to add my own art to retail and monetize it, then I would hide my signature in my art somewhere that would make it difficult to find and erase. But since I share my art free here, I see no reason to put the effort into watermarking it like that. It reduces the quality of the finished product, it does not stop thieves from stealing it, and it's a waste of time and effort.

Unfortunately it is, and there's almost nothing we can do about it. Considering how easy it would be to plug something into Photoshop, use the AI tools to clear up unwanted details such as watermarks and signatures, then post it to other sites. For real, it really is that bad.

Even if you report and reclaim your stolen art from one site, these people still have copies downloaded to their computers, and what's going to stop them from publishing and selling it on another site later?

Honestly though, it's not realy a big deal.

If anything, a good artist is more likeky to be noticed f their artwork is spread across the internet. As far as I'm concerned, it's free *************. The more people see my original art, the more likely I'll be noticed and contacted for future commissions. Even if it's on another site,posted by someone else. It's possible for them to find their way back to the original source.

we're not sure, I'd gotten her from my pastor's wife, who'd gotten her from the 'breeder', who didn't want to deal with more dogs and gave her away for free--- otherwise they planned on sacking the puppies---
but it's quite possible she had some in her, since she had the markings and facial structure,
but I'd be lying if I said I knew for sure

in fact, the person who gave my pastors wife the puppies actually lied about the breed (one google search told us that much, as the ref and the puppers looked nothing a like, tho i don't remember what they called her)

I'm not well versed on dog breeds either. But unless I'm misinformed, Avatar depicted here is a Blue Nose Pitbull, a terrier breed, which includes, or might look similar to; Labs, Retrievers, Rottweilers, or possibly Dobermans. Could also be a cross-breed.
But again, this is nt my area of expertise.
