Now kind of a rant-

MHST2 is a really cool game. The theme is kinda confusing though. I mean, yeah forming bonds and stuff but there's never like one singular theme, y'know? There's also main ideas like 'having an open mind' but like what other themes are there? 'Saving humanity'? '******* monsters'? I'll think about it xP

And I'm not sure why, but I feel like I connect with mhts2 really well. Although I can't really relate to any of the characters, I have a feeling that something just clicks. I'll find out someday I guess lol.

I also find it funny that the original reason I got into Monster Hunter/Monster Hunter Stories is because there are cats in it. :laughing:

All in all, MHST2 is a really great game. I'd definitely say it's one of the few video games that actually made (and continues to make) me happy. I've heard that it's just a better Pokémon. And to be honest, I think it is (no offense to Pokémon, I still like it). It's just that in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, it seems like they attempted to give characters backstory but they kinda... failed? While Capcom seems to really like giving their characters backgrounds.

If you were wondering (which you probably weren't), The characters featured are Navirou, Kyle, Catavaner, Stable Paw, Melynx, Mizutsune, Ratha, Barrel Felyne and Tsukino. (All characters belong to Capcom.)

MH Stories was a fantastic spin-off. I loved the Pokemon animated series as a kid, but couldn't quite get into any of the games.
I was introduced to Monster Hunter over 15 years ago, and the Stories spin-offs was the patform where I enjoyed the monster capture game play system most.

I agree, and I also liked watching the Pokémon anime, I believe it was more interesting than the games. I was introduced to Monster Hunter not too long ago- back in like 2021 when I saw the Nintendo Treehouse live crew play Monster Hunter Stories 2. Dispite knowing about the game before it was released, I picked up the game during the summer of 2022 by renting it from a library. I immediately loved the game. The graphics, the characters, the montsers, et cetera.
