Literally Reverto, Kyle, Alwin, AND Cheval all have a shoulder plate and a breast plate (I forgot if Alwin has a breast plate though :P )
But then Avinia is just wearing normal clothes and Kayna is just wearing a freaking bikini but somehow it's armor

This is pretty true...
The only exception that comes to mind is Pukei-Pukei armor for girls.
I'm not counting the all the insect based armor sets... because they look more like strange alien suits.
