Yes, in theory, you could make the fighting stage as large as need be, relative to the original figure which can be scaled. And you could cut parts off the original figure to manipulate angles, etc. as well, or re-draw it. I think working in silhoette is a fun challenge, which helps in creating character ideas in general. This was loosely based on a reference, then I painted it in Android to practice elements, then painted it again here to get it right. Also, you should consider trying the project, as it is good practice modifying, or inventing, poses.
I got out my graphics tablet and have been using it a bit more. Most of the time when it says PC, it is just me pulling the Android drawing into PC to adjust. But with these,panted from the start on PC. Didn't take long to get back into the feel of the tablet, which is good. And the pressure does make it a bit more nuanced.
