Ah, I've had a Switch for awhile. I just had trouble drawing on it until recently, haha. I think I needed time away from the 3ds so that I could start fresh on the Switch, if that makes sense. To learn something the right way, you must first learn how to stop doing it the wrong way, or something like that, lol.

@PineappleChan_ I've been baking too! I just baked a bunch of cookies for my friends at work. I don't usually cook/bake unless it's for other people.

It's so nice you get to see your mom, though! I didn't know she lived so far away. I hope you get to have fun with her when she visits!

Sorry for being gone for so long! I only planned to take a short (lol) break and then come back through the switch. Buuuuut I understand a lot of the frustrations now. Hmm, like it feels like the skills I used on the 3ds doesn't translate on the switch and I keep hitting walls for everything I was able to do. Kinda like relearning a language? Anyway, all I got are a bunch of unfinished drawings and I still don't have anything I feel comfortable posting. Worst, real life has been busy lately too so I have had weeks of just no time to do anything Hopefully I'll have something finished soon!!! >o<

I did celebrate Christmas! Felt like a dream, really nice but gone too soon. Got to cook and eat yummy food, watch movies together, and open gifts of course! Got a sketchbook too so that'll be fun.

In short, I've been good, planning on coming back to colors soon (just let me finish a drawing I feel comfortable with) and I'm super glad that you've been good too!!!

It was great !!<3 Yeah it makes sense, I had to get used to drawing on the switch when first joining so I understand completely lol I actually grown up using Colors3D and havent drawn in yrs until I got it so I had to reteach myself in someway and also learn abt the tools

It's more fun when you bake for people, that is so sweet of you to make some for your friends ! For me, I don't normally cook unless if I had to, I enjoy baking morexD

@Puzzled Right!? I experienced the same problems with the Switch! The solution? It's gonna sound crazy, but... Give up. Take some time away. Refresh your mind...

I think the problem with me was, I was stuck in a 3DS mindset. I was expecting the Switch to operate exactly like the 3ds, but it just doesn't, although it's very similar. I think it has to do with it having a better resolution, so it doesn't pixelate as easily. You also have to cover a wider area of space...

Something that has helped me (other than taking time away), is actually shrinking the drawing with the select and move tool. It makes it faster and easier to draw smoother lines, and it feels like drawing on a 3ds screen because it's more pixelated.

Of course, you could also try using pretendo on your 3ds, but you'll have to modify it first. I was gonna do that, but I got used to drawing on the Switch, so it's whatever.

Anyway, I hope you can draw something you like soon! And I'm glad your Christmas was good!

@PineappleChan_ I'm actually pretty surprised that you started with the 3ds, because you seem to have a preference for the Switch, since you draw more on it... What made you draw on the Switch more than the 3ds?

I hope your new years was good! Mine was alright. I forgot to make a New Year's resolution... But I think I already have some goals in mind.

@Mewsea It's mostly bc of the tools ! I love the scissors tool so I can rearrange some things I think need fixing and the select tool, makes it easier to color. I also love the transparency lock tool when that released later on bc it stays within the layer and doesn't get messy. I just feel like my drawings look better on the switch but I think that's just me xD However, I do miss the 3ds bc I do prefer the smaller screen and miss the classic, nostalgic way of making digitalart on the 3ds(cont.)

Yeah, I was surprised that I stayed up til midnight tbh. I was getting close on falling asleep lolol What goals do u have in mind ? I didn't make any either but I dont normally make resolutions, I prob should though xD

@PineappleChan_ Absolutely! My favorite tool is the select and move tool on the Switch because it's just so convenient. I draw a lot from memory/imagination, so I can easily adjust something that doesn't look quite right with the select and move tool... I've noticed that some of the tools on the Switch are just faster methods of drawing stuff on the 3DS. So, yeah, I can totally understand why you would prefer drawing on the Switch. I think I prefer the Switch now too, which is funny because I was so adamant that I would never get used to it, lol.

I'll have to check out your older drawing on the 3DS!

My resolutions? Uhh, it's gonna sound silly, but...I'd like to be more involved with stuff... I'm a pretty isolated person, so I'd like to make more friends and be more active in communities and stuff... I'd also like to draw more realism, and stuff outside of my comfort zone... But I'm shy, even if I don't seem that way. >_<

I have a discord, but I never really use it... I think part of the issue lies in me not knowing how to socialize very well, haha... So, I don't know what to do with a discord.

But yeah, I think I could learn a lot more if I practiced realism, though I have some understanding of it already (or maybe more than I give myself credit for).
