(This is just what my mom told me so idk if it's true or not but) People used to pray to tree gods from a christmas tree, So christians took the tree and decorated it with bells, Because it's supposed to be when you ring a bell it takes away evil or smt
So i can just imagine the cherubs decorating mammon with bells
